Navigation: Home - Home Business Courses - Internet Marketing Basics - Step 3 Welcome to section 3 of the Home Business Course I hope you are still with me! We have so much to cover, but remember, it's your future that we are discussing. If you really want to be successful with your home business, then you have to put the effort in. Without further hesitation, let's move on to........ Step 3 - Become Organised You may be thinking we covered this in the last section. To a degree you are right, but not entirely. There is much more to being organised, and it's essential that you get yourself organised before you start jumping head first into anything. The following may have already happened to you: You have joined 10 affiliate programs, and downloaded 25 eBooks. You are ready to unleash yourself online. But, you cannot find that eBook that teacheds you how to do this, or that. Maybe you have even lost an all important affiliate url. Why? Because you are not organised. What happens a few months down the line when you remember an eBook that you purchased that would now be useful? You have to keep your hard drive organised. Create folders, and sub folders. Give them meaningful names so you instantly know what you will find in each one. When you download an eBook or whatever, it often comes with a name like APD_Resell_Kit_5663. Change the name! You will have no idea what this means in a few months (if not weeks) time. Organise everything! TIP: Download Google Desktop. This will allow you to search your desktop in the same way you would search the web (including emails). Great way to search for a file that you cannot find. It's not just your computer that needs to stay organised. You need to prepare an organised work space too. File everything, and keep your desk clutter free. This will also help you stay focused and free of distractions. Working from home is great, but there are so many distractions in your home. You need to remove them, or you will not get anywhere fast. Give yourself set breaks, and a structured day. Write yourself a weekly roster and stick to it. Give yourself a lunch hour. As mentioned in section 1, you do still have a boss in your online business, but that boss is you. You have to have the mindset and mentality of a manager. You have to manage yourself to get the best out of yourself. If you had no manager in your day job, what would happen? I don't need to explain - you get the picture! Same applies to your home business, so get managing yourself and your time NOW! |
