Making Money is NOT Easy - But IS Possible......

Now, some will disagree with me here.  These people will be the very same people who are trying to sell you an eBook, software, or whatever that promises to make you huge amounts of cash.  The majority of these people will be making next to nothing online.  It screams desperation.

Making money on the Internet is NOT easy.  It is, however, possible.  You will need guts, determination and lots of patience.

I'll let you into a little secret.  I told you in the introduction that I started marketing online in 2004.  What I didn't tell you is that I didn't any cash online until January 2006! Not one penny (or cent).  The easy option would be to give up after 6 months.  But I was incredibly patient, and VERY determined.

Admittedly, not everyone takes that long to begin making money.  When I first started, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing.  I didn't know ANYTHING! I taught myself how to build a website and the rest of it.  My determination is what got me here today.  I would still expect you to do much better than me though.

The majority of home business owners never make any money.  Why is that?  They try it out for a few months and do not see any income.  So, they give it up and throw the idea out of the window.

NOOOOOOOOO! Don't!  Actually, do - less competition for the rest of us right?! Just kidding!

The right attitude is essential.  You need to be able to pick yourself up when you've had a run of crap results and nothing seems to be working.  You may feel like you will never succeed, and it's so easy to give up.  It's the cowards way out.  It's the business version of suicide. Rather than face the problems, you jump ship.  How do these guys know that success was not just around the corner?

Do not quit your day job until you start to replace your income.  If you are thinking: I can make money online, so I'm going to quit my job tomorrow and start working full time at home.  Don't be so damn stupid!  Starting an online business takes time and effort.  I'm afraid it will also take some investment too.  Not a lot, but some.

To start yourself off with no investment, then try Bum Marketing.  I recommend that you do not rely on this as your home business though.  Simply get yourself started this way to generate some income.  Use that income to invest in your home business.

I'm not going to lie to you.  I do not know the owner of the site personally.  God, I hate those emails that say: My close friend <insert name> has just released etc etc.  Really annoys me. You are not close friends - you are simply an affiliate promoting someone else's product. Rant over - sorry, but I hate lies.  I also hate over-inflated marketing hype - and marketers that send me a new promotion every 2 days.  Send me something useful wise guy.  Maybe then I'll actually start to read your emails rather than unsubscribing and/or deleting them!  When will they learn for god's sake.

Anyway, back to the point......

You will need your regular income to support yourself and your family while you are developing your online business.  So, don't quit your job just yet.  The future though, is a diferent story.

On to the first step of your course.........

Step 1 - Treat Your Home Business as a Real Business

You will need, or have a desire to learn, the following skills;

Leadership

Patience

Customer Service

Confidence

Finance/Accounting

Goal Setting

Leadership

And many more.

To summarise - you need to possess Basic Business Skills before starting your Home Business.

It's true to say that starting an online business is much easier than starting a standard 'brick and mortar' business, but you are still going to need the same basic skills if you want to be successful.

There are plenty of books available that can teach you these skills. Simply search Amazon or your local bookshop, and take your pick.

One skill that I do want to cover in a little more detail is LEADERSHIP.

Why do you need leadership skills to run an online business with zero employees?

I'll tell you exactly why.  You still have to manage yourself. You are an employee of your home business. You will have to motivate yourself, discipline yourself and set tasks for yourself.

Your business will not succeed unless you are their to lead it from the start. Make a commitment to your success and lead from the front.
